21 Day Challenge, Day 12: Divide and Conquer, or Keep It All Together?

In my art journaling practice, I often bounce back and forth between having ONE journal that contains all of “life” or having separate, themed journals. For instance, I spent an amazing 5 days in Niagara Falls. Should the memories and pictures from that trip be put in a travel journal, or should I just put them in my Book of Me art journal? Right now, I’m in the middle of a getaway with the family in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Should those memories be in a travel journal of their own, combined with the Niagara Falls travel journal if I so create one, or just included in my Book of Me?

Decisions, decisions, decisions…

I am more inclined to create one travel journal for this entire trip. It is truly our 2012 vacation — it was just done in two separate parts during the same week in order that hubby could put full attention on spoiling me rotten for my birthday. And I must add that he flawlessly and grandly achieved his goal! So, I could combine the entire trip — from August 11th through August 18th — into one travel journal. Or, I could make two separate travel journals — one to commemorate my great birthday getaway and another one to commemorate our first family vacation (normally hubby and I go it alone for a week and leave the kids at home; this year is the first year we took the boys on a vacation). Lastly, I could record the entire experience in my Book of Me since the experience is mine to remember…

What to do? What to do?

That’s where you guys come in: WWYD? (What would you do?) Would you add the vacation to your Book of Me, create one travel journal for both legs of the trip, or create one travel journal for the entire trip? Share your thoughts on this common dilemma in the Comments section below. We would love to hear from you!
